Under the bookshelf
I found a note
And reading through it carefully
I knew it was old, so old...

It told of the mysteries,
The meaning of life;
While suddenly a thunder
Was crashing outside....

And a river came flowing
Through the cracks of the door
And he whispered to me softly
While I lay on the floor...

And his song stayed clearly inside my head!
The rhythm, the stanzas the craved
Peace on Earth! And then...

The note from the bookshelf
It crumbled on my hand.
Then I knew quite suddenly,
That our blood stained the land.

And visions of Hunger,
The horrors of War,
The cycle keeps repeating,
Has mankind gone too far?

And his song stayed clearly inside my head!
Should it be that no answer be given to the dead?
That the love in our soul has already fled?
That in this world some things should not be said?
No reward for the innocent that bled.
